The area of tobacco stores- a significant part both in terms of surface and in value of the town-, is connected directly to the economical prosperity of the town, it is preserved in a satisfactory level and a street planning net is one of the best gatherings of the industrial architecture in Greece. The buildings are created at the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 20th and are magnificent samples of architecture, some of which are unique in Europe.

Folk Museum of Xanthi |

The Folk Museum of Xanthi was founded by the Progressive Union of Xanthi (FEX). Due to its small place and because a number of exhibits it was expanded at Kougioumtzoglou and Kaloudi mansions at the beginning of 19th century.

Kosynthos Kosynthos river flows exclusively on the borders of the open surface. Its fountains come from the tops of Koulas (central Rodopi), crosses Pomakochoria, passes through the traditional settlement of Xanthi and after it spreads tin the valley, it washes up ay the north-west of Vistonida lake. The name of Kosynthos river in the ancient years was “Kossinitis”
