MAYOR OF XANTHI

MICHAEL STYLIANIDES

Michael Stylianides was born in 1944 in Xanthi, by Charilaos and Helen Stylianides.

He studied Mechanical Engineer.

For many years he has served as Senior in the Transport Directory- K.T.E.O of the Prefecture of Xanthi.

He firstly, involved with the public affairs in 1987, when he was elected as Prefectural Councilor, which position he renewed until 1998. The same year he was elected Mayor of Xanthi for the first time and he was re-elected in 2002 and 2006, from the 1^st round, having 58% and 55%  respectively.

Since 1999, he has been serving as President of the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Xanthi  (T.E.D.K.). He is also member of the board of directors of the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities of Greece (K.E.D.K.E.) in which he takes part to lots of committees and he is  president of the K.E.D.K.E. committee for the Period of Intent 2007-2013 (E.S.P.A.)

He has served as member of the Greek Delegation at the District Committee of European Union and at the Economics Committee of K.E.D.K.E.

He is currently serving as President of Waste Administration of East Macedonia-Thrace District (DI.A.A.MA.TH.) and President of the Developmental Company of East Macedonia and Thrace and of the Waste Administration Association of the Prefecture of Xanthi.

He is member of the District Committee of East Macedonia & Thrace since it was founded till today. He is President of the Company of Energy-Environment-Development of Xanthi and of the Company of Waste Processing <FYSIS>

He is, also, taking part as a member to lots of Cultural and Athletics Clubs of the Prefecture of Xanthi.

He is married to Aggeliki Mouchtari, with whom he has a daughter named Nikoletta.
